Heartopia is bringing the timeless New Legend of Madame White Snake to its world

Heartopia is known for its relaxed life-simulation experience, where we can build homes, explore its world, dress up characters, and enjoy a slower-paced virtual life. Now, the game is adding a sprinkle of a more traditional experience with a collaboration inspired by New Legend of Madame White Snake, one of China’s best-known romantic tales.

The collaboration is officially scheduled to arrive on September 30, 2026, with Heartopia teasing us with a story and content centred around a timeless classic.

The collaboration brings one of China’s most famous romantic legends into Heartopia

The promotional images already give us a good idea of what might be coming. We can easily guess that traditional Chinese architecture will be the inspiration for the world, where the key art itself features umbrellas, bridges, lotus flowers, and characters inspired by the legend, which can be featured once the collab goes live.

For those unfamiliar with the IP, New Legend of Madame White Snake is a 1992 Chinese television series based on the much older Legend of the White Snake folk tale. The story follows Bai Suzhen, a white snake spirit who has spent a thousand years cultivating her powers before taking human form.

She eventually meets Xu Xian, a kind-hearted young physician, and the two fall in love. Their relationship, however, in their words, crosses the boundary between the human and spirit worlds. Bai Suzhen’s companion Xiaoqing stays by her side, while Fahai, a monk who believes humans and spirits should not fall in love, attempts to separate the couple.

The series became a major hit after first airing in Taiwan in 1992 and later being broadcast in mainland China. It has remained a well-known adaptation of the classic legend for decades.

As for Heartopia, the developers have not yet revealed exactly what players can expect from the collaboration. More details should arrive as the collaboration date gets closer.
