Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2, and there’s more to this version than better visuals. The game also includes fully voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music.
With the November 5th release date getting ever so close, this new trailer gives us another look at what’s changed for Link’s return to Hyrule.
As Nintendo previously mentioned, the game uses the Switch 2 microphone and incorporates it into the gameplay. You can hum a song Link has learned, or play it on an actual instrument, and his ocarina will respond in the game. Of course, how well that works is something I’ll have to try for myself. Hopefully, it won’t be too picky about my humming.
AdvertisementThere’s also a new location called the Hall of Fallen Foes, where you’ll find statues of monsters you’ve already defeated. You can learn more about them there or take them on again in a rematch. So, if there’s an encounter you want another shot at, you’ll have a place to do that. And I love that Nintendo did this, since there have been plenty of games where I’ve fought a specific enemy or boss, and thought that experience was amazing, that the only time I could replay it again was another play through. Maybe more people will think about adding this.
Nintendo has also confirmed support for ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices. Two new The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time amiibo figures are coming in 2027 and will unlock special in-game masks. If you already have amiibo from The Legend of Zelda series, those will provide useful rewards as well.
Nintendo also showed off several new Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with Young Link and Young Zelda. However, those won’t be available until 2027. I also expect them to be completely sold out when they do eventually go up for sale.
AdvertisementThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches on November 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2 as part of the series’ 40th anniversary celebration. That gives longtime fans a chance to revisit Link’s adventure across time and newcomers a chance to experience it for themselves. Between the voice acting, new music, and gameplay additions, I’m curious to see how different that familiar trip through Hyrule feels. And maybe this time I’ll be able to actually finish the game without my parents constantly yelling at me.
