The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake will support VRR while docked

Last week, after two Nintendo Directs, there was one more surprise for us: Nintendo finally got VRR working on the Switch 2 when docked. A massive firmware update went out, and that was one of the headline features. The only downside? Games have to be patched to support it, and one was: Welcome Tour.

But we now know of one more game that will support it, and that game is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The game’s eShop listing in numerous countries now has a section saying that, in addition to HDR, the game will now support VRR when played on a TV. Something that was impossible before last week’s update.

Will something else get patched and add VRR support before Ocarina of Time’s November 5th release? It’s likely, but at least we know how Nintendo plans on keeping those amazing graphics running smooth.
