The New Avatar: Seven Havens Trailer Has Me Even More Excited

You may not know it since I don’t talk about it very much, but I’ve always enjoyed Avatar: The Last Airbender and, yes, The Legend of Korra. So, when I found out that a new series titled Avatar: Seven Havens was being worked on, I was excited. I’ve been following as much information as I can about the series, and the latest trailer released today is full of new footage, interesting details and fleshing out supporting cast.

Not only do we get to see and hear more from the twin sisters, Pavi and Nisha, but we also get a better look at what Pavi can already do. Pavi is the newly reincarnated Avatar following Korra, while Nisha is her long-lost sister.

During the trailer, Pavi uses her earthbending to rescue someone trapped beneath several massive stones before deflecting another incoming boulder with airbending. Despite her young age, Pavi has already demonstrated control over two elements, which suggests she may be further along in her training than we initially believed.

Unfortunately, being the Avatar no longer makes someone a symbol of hope. Avatar: Seven Havens takes place approximately 225 years after The Legend of Korra, following a devastating cataclysm that destroyed the old nations and left civilization divided among seven surviving havens. The people of this new world believe the previous Avatar failed them, with Korra seemingly receiving much of the blame for whatever happened.

I say that with plenty of speculation, as we briefly see Korra going ballistic in the trailer and seemingly causing some sort of spiritual damage. It is still too early to know exactly what happened, but so far, it isn’t looking good. Due to Korra’s currently unknown history and whatever role she played in the cataclysm, Pavi is considered humanity’s potential destroyer rather than its savior.

That reputation forces Pavi to remain on the run, as the authorities hunt her and punish anyone willing to provide her with shelter. She won’t be facing those dangers alone, however, as the trailer also introduces Jae and a secret organization known as the Order of the White Lotus. Yeah, they’re back as well. Nisha will naturally play an important role as well, particularly as the long-lost sisters attempt to uncover the truth behind their mysterious origins and why they were separated.

The trailer also shows just how much the world has changed since Korra’s era. Airbenders appear to be thriving, with several shown riding flying bison and hoverboard-like vehicles. Humans and spirits, however, do not appear to be getting along, suggesting that Korra’s decision to leave the spirit portals open may have eventually led to consequences that nobody could have anticipated. Again, that is speculation, but the trailer is clearly setting up Korra’s final years and the cataclysm as two of the show’s biggest mysteries.

Whatever happened, the mystery surrounding Korra’s legacy and the connection between Pavi and Nisha looks to be at the heart of Avatar: Seven Havens. The trailer gives us plenty to think about without revealing all its secrets, and I’m especially interested in seeing how the series handles Korra’s history. Hopefully, there is more to the story than simply blaming her for destroying the world because, despite what some people think about The Legend of Korra, she deserves better than that.

So, believe me when I say that this trailer has me hyped. I’ve been looking forward to Avatar: Seven Havens ever since it was announced, and everything shown here has only increased my excitement. Hearing that we’ll be getting multiple episodes each week makes it even better, especially with how many mysteries the series already appears to be setting up.

Avatar: Seven Havens premieres globally on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026, with its first three episodes. Episodes 4 through 6 will arrive on October 16, episodes 7 through 9 on October 23, and the remaining four episodes of Book One on October 30. Details regarding the second 13-episode book will be announced at a later date.
